Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions (LACE), is one of some 60 participating arts organizations in Los Angeles and Southern California that are part of a city-wide arts exhibition explosion and extravaganza, Pacific Standard Time. Los Angeles Goes Live: Performance Art in Southern California 1970-1983 is the name of the show that opens at LACE on September 27, 2011, and runs through January 29, 2012. As part of our podcast series sponsored by SITE Santa Fe, Adobeairstream sat down to talk with Carol Stakenas, the executive director of LACE, about putting on a show that is part exhibition, part commissions series, and part creation of a new digital archive chronicling the multifaceted riches of performances, happenings, activities, and other live events as they happened and will be happening anew in L.A.
