James Drake‘s Salon of A Thousand Souls, a one-man show curated by New Mexico Museum of Art curator Laura Addison, can be seen at NMMA in Santa Fe through April 22, 2012. Not a “retrospective” per se, the show contains works of steel sculpture, as well as large charcoal drawings by the artist, made over a 30-year period in his career. Drake came in to AdobeAirstream to talk about the show and his work on 12/5/2011.

Interviewer’s Note: I referenced Black Mirror by the wrong title; its actual title is Heart of Gold (Dressing Table), 1989.
