Regine Basha is scheduled to assume post March 1 as the new director of Artpace. The non-profit arts organization based in San Antonio, Texas is “so very pleased to announced that Regine Basha has been appointed Executive Director,” according to the Artpace Blog.

Beyond her experience working in the arts in Texas–as the co-founder of online arts magazine fluent-collaborative and adjunct curator of Arthouse at the Jones Center–Basha has worked internationally as well. She graduated from the Center for Curatorial Studies at Bard College, and worked as an independent curator in New York for several years prior to joining Artpace.

“Artpace’s mission to inspire through the creation and advancement of contemporary art and belief that art is an important social force is a model for major art institutions throughout the world,” says Basha. “I look forward to working with such a dynamic organization as it evolves and continues to challenge the role of contemporary art while fostering creative careers and giving access to the public.”
